American midget ace, Paul Swedberg ran his dirt track Offenhauser speedway midget on the Mount Panorama , Bathurst race track on 25th March 1940. Midgets run an outside hand brake hooked up to the rear wheels only and in this pic Paul has his right hand on the hand brake lever as he brakes the Offy. For this meeting he had handbrake levers mounted on both sides. Paul was the first American Speedcar driver to tour Australia with his own car in 1938. ..Photo by Byron Gunther.
